Valentine's Day Makeup Tips

If there were ever a holiday to indulge in a little fun and color Valentine's Day is certainly it. It's a perfect excuse to glam up your every-day look into something magical. Hopefully you'll be adorned with all the chocolates, flowers, candy and wonderful sparkly baubles you can possibly use. So what do you do to return the favor to your Valentine? Maybe some gifts, a gourmet meal or other trinkets but what's really going to get the fire started is how great you feel and how incredible you look to your love.

Are you a conservative makeup wearer? Don't have time each morning to doll up to look and feel your absolute best? Well plan on spending a few extra minutes this Valentine's Day to really glitz it up a notch and add some drama mama!

We're going to assume you're coming up with some hot reds, basic blacks or lacy whites/neutrals for an outfit with the perfect  accessories for the day. You've done your priming, foundations and are ready to add some glam. Now, it's all about the makeup color and for Valentine's Day you can't go wrong with pinks and reds. After all they are the colors of love!

Let's start with the eyes. When your significant other looks at you, likely they are gazing into your eyes so give them something to look at! A gradient effect from red to pink on the upper lid will do. Highlighted with a sparkly champagne or white shimmer should do the trick. For a little more dazzle go with a white glitter. Line it up with a dramatic black on the lower lid (and upper lid for an even more sultry stare) and some lash-tastic mascara to bring those lashes to peak performance when winking!

You'll be doing plenty of blushing if the day (or night) goes well so let's add some base color there to those cheeks with just a hint of a  rosy glow. Take a soft, large brush (a kabuki brush is perfect for this) and lightly highlight those cheekbones with a shimmery bronzer. Don't be shy with the sparkles here... a great bronzer won't ever look gaudy and will add a subtle shimmer to your look in candlelight. We like to run a stroke or two across the lower neck line where it meets the chest if the outfit allows for it.

Now, the lips... sensual, sexy and downright gorgeous! Add some complimentary color to that pucker. Use the same pink or red (depending on your skin tone - you don't want to scare anyone away here) shimmer powder on your lips and seal it in with a clear gloss. Shiny, glossed up lips are quintessential to the Valentine's Day look.

We hope your Valentine's Day is as magical as your look is going to be! Check out out makeup picks for this Valentine's Day. We're looking forward to seeing some absolutely gorgeous tre Bellezza Valentine's Day angels or devils!

5 Reasons Why Primer Transforms A Good Makeup Application To Great

Most of our clients have never tried or even heard of makeup primer. However once they try it they can't live without it! Makeup primer is meant to create a smooth surface between your makeup and your skin. It's best for those with what we call imperfect skin and we haven't met anyone with truly perfect, flawless skin yet! Read on...

1. Primer creates a smooth surface for makeup applications

Applying a high quality primer to your skin before your makeup will smooth out microscopic lines and imperfections. Even somewhat damaged and scarred skin from acne and sun abuse. It allows makeup to glide on gently and evenly making your application easier while using less product!

2. Primer extends the wear of your makeup application

Got oily skin? Dry skin? Have regular problems with makeup not staying on all day and night? Primer to the rescue! Primer creates a light, weightless barrier between your skin and makeup. The makeup holds to the primer until you remove it. That means longer lasting makeup applications that last all day & night.

3. Primer provides healthy hydration

Everybody's skin needs to be moisturized at some point daily. Primer keeps the skin flexible and hydrated without the greasy mess of some lotions and creams. It provides a smooth canvas for luminous and lasting makeup applications.

4. Primer helps protect your skin

By creating a velvety canvas for makeup by smoothing out imperfections and filling in larger pours and wrinkles, primer actually helps protect your skin by creating a barrier for those nasty little toxins floating around in the air. It also helps diffuse sunlight under long exposure can be harmful.

5. Achieve a professional look in minutes

Why add another step to your daily makeup routine? Well if the 4 reasons above haven't convinced you, your friends and family will. People will notice a difference in your skin almost immediately. A more lustrous, smoother, longer lasting makeup application gets attention. There's no doubt about that!
