Know when to ditch it girl!

A very common question asked about makeup is “How do I know when it’s too old?”. There are some guidelines for knowing when to toss your older, unfinished makeup. These are just tips for already opened products so if you’re still not sure simply judge by it’s looks, smell, or feel.

Mineral Foundation Powders

As long as it lasts – assuming you've never put your fingers directly into the pod! If it's been exposed to high heat or humidity, gotten wet or left out in extreme cold it’s a good idea to chuck it. Because of the zinc in tre Bellezza Foundations it's not susceptible to bacteria and great for sensitive skin!

Mineral Bronzers and Blushes

1-2 years. Sooner if it has been near or around moisture or humidity. Bronzers and Blushes need to be brushed on evenly. If it leaves lines or blotches and doesn’t apply easily then say adios.

Mineral Shimmers, Eyeshadows and Glitters

1 Year. Feel the application, does is still go on lightly and smoothly? If not, then it’s not a good idea to put this anywhere on your face or body.

Lipstick, Glosses and Liners

1 to 2 Years. This is when it starts to smell funky. Pencils can last for years if taken care of properly.

Mascaras

3 or 4 Months or less if it makes your eyes feel tired or weighed down. Clumps are no good. No one likes clumpy lashes. Not even your Mom.

Eyeliners

6 Months. Sharpen pencils after every other use. Not too sharp! That’s your eye there. Liquids that aren’t used within this time should definitely not be used because it can cause burning. It’s not fun – trust us.

Go through your makeup bags and cases every few months to make sure you have nothing that will have you guessing. Remember it’s smarter to replace when taking care of that face!
